e46 2000 - all of a sudden my convertible roof ( fully automatic roof ) light flashes red constantly and the roof wont go up or down. Just before the cold spell the car beeped to tell me it was 3degrees and the light stopped flashing - when i got home the roof worked- but now the problem is back and the roof wont move - the most that happens is the windows go up / down. SOURCE: I have a BMW Z4 2003 2.5 with the exhaust emission. The Exhaust Emission Light can come on if the car is driven slowly over short distances.It will not happen on cars driven at speed. A short trip of ten miles at over 3000 revs should reset the warning light,although it may not go out for a couple of days after you have tried it .
